Join Us in abandonment

I guess I am a masochist but I journeyed out to the BW hallerne shipyard this afternoon, just to see the state of the place post Saturday´s grand final. It tugged at my heartstrings, when I saw the dissasembling of the entire area. To think that 5 days ago, the biggest television events took place with an epic, historic and groundbreaking win that is making global news. Even The New Yorker has a piece on Conchita Wurst´s win. So history was made here. 

It´s sad to see it go. Even if Denmark ís host again in the foreseeable future, it won´t take place at this spot. It was a perfect venue. Had Eurovision been held in an arena, the atmosphere would have been completely different.  In any case Copenhagen is not the guaranteed as host city, it could be held somewhere in Jutland.

I´m so happy and lucky to have experienced this very special event, and the cost of extra tickets and sleep deprivation was all worth it. I must go to Vienna next year.
